Andrew is an Enrolled Agent admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. He is an Accredited Business Accountant and an Accredited Tax Preparer through the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation, where he has served on the Subject Matter Expert Panel. He also has a background in mortgage lending and real estate, having founded Manhattan Lending Corporation, a mortgage brokerage firm.
Author of the QuickBooks Ultimate Lesson Guide© DVD, a 16-hour training course teaching the fundamentals of QuickBooks. Andrew has served as an adjunct professor of tax law for University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Auburn University. He is a member of the Intuit ProConnect Customer Council, and a contributing author to several Intuit blogs and newsletters. In addition, he is a nationally syndicated tax software expert and founding tax editor for Reviews.com; and a columnist of Main Street Tax News and speaker for the National Society of Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
Andrew has been featured in the CPA Practice Advisor and the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and has published tax articles in more than a dozen accounting publications and journals. His tax and personal finance advice is often sought-after by major publications, including TIME, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, USA Today, American Express Open Forum, and TheStreet, among others. Andrew frequently appears on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX, among other leading networks.
Andrew received his bachelor degree in Accounting and Real Estate from Georgia State University, a place he is still very much involved in. In addition to being featured in the inaugural alumni newsletter, he has served as a mentor for the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business Honors Program and as a Board of Director for Georgia State University School of Accountancy.
Andrew is also the founder of Poulos Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. 501(c)3 charity, as well as the host and producer of Financial Smarts Network. Despite all his different jobs and experiences, the passion he holds closest to his heart is the Georgia Special Olympics, where he worked with mentally and physically disabled children. He calls it an “emotionally uplifting experience” that taught him about perseverance in life, no matter what obstacles are thrown your way.
An entrepreneur at heart, Andrew enjoys investing in the stock market, managing his real estate portfolio, and looking for the next great investment opportunity. He is a go-getter who believes in hard work and being financially fit by maintaining a debt free life to achieve financial freedom. While staying busy, he keeps up with sports and roots for his favorite teams.
