Andrew G. Poulos an Enrolled Agent
admitted to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service had an
entrepreneurial vision at the young age of 9. At 9 years old Andrew
began spending his summers working with his local postal carrier
delivering mail in his local community of Brooklyn, NY. He was
eager to work and learn at a very young age. He is a first
generation Greek raised by immigrant parents who didn?t speak
English while growing up. Growing up in a Greek household Andrew
had a difficult time learning English. Despite the education challenges he has faced, he has been able to overcome everything and
persevere by being the first in his family to obtain a college
education.
At age 13 Andrew started a lemonade
stand in his neighborhood in Decatur, GA. He operated his lemonade
stand business on a daily business during his summer vacations. At
age 15 while attending high school, he founded a candy business that
he operated while attending school. Andrew?s primary focus was
selling candy to fellow students in the school. He was
an entrepreneur at heart and had a skill for managing his finances from a very
young age, no matter how small they were.
Upon graduating from Georgia State
University in 1994 with a Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting and Real
Estate, Andrew decided to start up his own accounting firm after
being turned down by dozens of employers. In February 1995 Andrew
founded his firm Poulos Accounting & Consulting, Inc. Over the
years he has grown his practice and has become nationally known with
clients across the country. 10 years after starting his firm he decided to provide
additional services to his clients. He diversified his business by obtaining his mortgage brokers license in 2005 and founded Manhattan Lending
Corporation. Andrew was able to have his mortgage company profitable
and debt free within the first 90 days of beginning operations. He
has always earned success by being a visionary, fiscally responsible,
and being a shrewd money manager.
In 2008 Andrew decided to pursue his
dream to become a speaker and teach others how to manage their
finances and their business. He founded a computer lab facility in
Tucker, GA and began to teach monthly QuickBooks® classes. In 2010 he
was honored with the opportunity to teach for Auburn University. He
credits his successful speaking career to his colleague Beanna
Whitlock, a nationally renowned speaker who has mentored and inspired
him to be speaker. Andrew is a part of the Legacy Series speaker?s
bureau http://www.thelegacyseries.org
founded by Beanna Whitlock and Bryan Gates.
Andrew is the producer of the
QuickBooks® Ultimate Lesson Guide 2011© DVD. He has a love for
teaching and enjoys teaching others how to manage their finances and
their business and becoming successful. With the IRS now teaching
their agents on QuickBooks®, he has produced his class on DVD in an
effort to provide quality an affordable education to all who need it.
He is the host & creator of The Savvy Money Show, a weekly financial radio talk show that airs on WAEC 860AM every Friday 4:00-4:30pm.
Most recently he founded Online
Data Processing Services, LLC with his long time friend and colleague
DJ Grisewood. Online Data Processing Services is a 1099 processing
company that is being developed into a national processing center in an
effort to assist small business owners, and professionals with
the complex and tedious 1099 processing. Being a visionary Andrew
and DJ are developing a niche product using state of the art technology.
Andrew has been appointed to the
Subject Matter Expert Panel and the Accredited Tax Preparer Exam
Committee by the National Society of Accountants. He has been
elected Chairman of the Business & Technology Advisory Board for
Tucker High School in his local community. As the Chairman he was responsible for overseeing the Board that assisted the school with its State
Industry Re-Certification Program in 2011. With his assistance Tucker High School obtained its State Industry Re-Certification with one of the highest scores in the state.
He is an Author for Intuit's ProLine News Central and Website where he writes articles on various topics related to the accounting and finance industry.
Most recently Andrew was honored with a
feature profile in the inaugural edition of Georgia State University's School of
Accountancy Alumni Newsletter (The Account). Andrew attributes this honor to his
years of hard work and dedication to his profession.
He has also been featured in the
Atlanta Business Chronicle, has had press releases in the Wall Street Journal, the Charlotte Observer, and has been inducted into Lexington?s
Who?s Who of Executives and Professionals.
Andrew has been told numerous times
that he is an inspiring individual. He credits his success with his
businesses, real estate investments, and his speaking career to
strong work ethic, perseverance, and his entrepreneurial vision.
